Alcohol addiction, also called alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a medical condition in which a person has difficulty controlling their drinking despite negative effects on their health, relationships, or daily life. Teens with alcohol addiction may continue drinking even when it causes problems at home, school, or with friends, but effective treatment and recovery are possible.
